On the way home from work, I usually stop to get the mail, but I decided not to bother because I hadn't yet received an email from Yaesu telling me that they'd shipped my FTM-400 control head back to me yet. It turns out that's not a requirement!
When I walked into the house, my wife let me know that she'd signed for a box from Yaesu, and sure enough, it was my repaired FTM-400 control head. I installed it as soon as I could, and tested it.
It worked.
I took a few minutes to run it through its paces, and everything appears to be in proper working order. The touchscreen is again responsive, all of the buttons work, and all of the functions appear to be operating properly.
Thank goodness too, since my drives to and from work were starting to get boring. I was working my through the (small) world of amateur radio podcasts, but to be honest, there aren't many that I would classify as being amazing. Maybe I missed one that you'd like to recommend?
Anyway, I'm looking forward to operating mobile again!
